I order Caspian Sea Yogurt out of curiosity and I was presently surprised with result! The yogurt product turn out very mild in taste, very silky and smoot texture. It was not as sour as Bulgarian Yogurt, provided I used same milk and process for both. First batch was a bit on the runny side. On my second try, I bumped the temperature to 120F for the first hour to make bacteria multiply faster to begin with and after that I lowered to 106F. That seems to thicken the final product, but could be variance in the commercial milk I use.
Over all great product and having few extra kind of cultures in the mix is very beneficial for the health and digestive flora. I could see using this product for yogurt for younger kids that are not used to sourness of Bulgarian yogurt.
All in all good product. I will order again. May be I just little bias to original Bulgarian yogurt that has superior taste to me, but Caspian Sea has more probiotics in it, I will continue doing both.

I recently ordered some Caspian Sea starter. I’m sensitive to cows milk so I make it with plain soy milk.
So far, I find the Caspian starter is the best at masking the soy milk taste. Made a fairly thick yogurt without any additives.

At this point I have tried 3 of the 4 new yogurt verities, and made a batch of the fourth (Skyr) which will be ready tomorrow morning. I have enjoyed all 3. They are somewhat
similar in that they are all kind of mellow and yet they are all different. It’s a taste one would never find in any store-bought yoghurt.
Bottom line: I love them all, and will continue to make all of them, along with the Rose, and the regular Bulgarian yogurt too.
You have a customer for life!
As a side note I converted the sourdough starter I got from you into a 100% rye starter. It is very active and has a wonderful aroma. It makes a great bread!

I like yogurt because of the gut health benefits. I made my own Caspian Sea Yogurt for 15 years, until I lost my starter during a move, six years ago. Ordering online is something I’m just starting to get into and I’m very happy I was able to find a way to purchase a new starter.
