Hi
I have now tried both your Greek and Bulgarian starter and LOVE the Bulgarian. I have eaten(shop bought) Greek yoghurt for many years, but after making your Bulgarian, the Greek isn’t tangy enough!
Using the starters was a bit tricky at first but think I have it sorted now.
Many thanks
Cheers
Pam

Hi!
I love your Greek yogurt starter!
I have ordered several times from you, but I never received the free Yogurt Maker’s Handbook. Is that a download or is it a physical book? I’d sure love to have that.
Thanks!
Luann Andrew

Hi Ivo,
I saw my answered question email before I read this one, so here is my answer to your question. I love the taste and feel (texture) of a good, plain Greek yogurt that is full of healthy live bacteria.
I have been making my own yogurt for years, using high-quality store-bought as a starter. To get the Greek yogurt texture, I always strain my yogurt. I also have been fermenting a variety of veggies for around 6 years using the whey from my yogurt as a starter.
Finally, I am getting better educated on varieties of bacteria, their specific benefits, and all the different types of yogurt and vegetable ferments. I now wish to expand my yogurt-making experience by trying different varieties of yogurt and also using other mediums besides dairy milk. That is why I bought your complete array of yogurt starters. I want to grow my knowledge base and my experience. I also have friends that cannot tolerate milk products and want to develop yogurt gifts for them that will meet both their health needs and taste.
In closing, I mentioned this in my reply to your quick response and I want to repeat it here. First, thank you for your heirloom B bulgaricus starter, which can be used as a mother starter. And also a big thanks for your truly helpful and informative website. I am doing a deep-dive study into bacteria and our microbiome and found your articles, information, and FAQs well-written and useful.
Best,
Sunny Rivers

Hi Ivo
Just to let you know first of all that I am new to making yoghurt. I feel lucky to have been introduced to your starters by my daughter-in-law. I thoroughly enjoyed what she had made and having recently purchased a Crockpot turbo express that has a yoghurt making feature, I decided to try that. Have had great success with both your starters. Love the taste so I placed another order just over a week ago but was told you were away till Aug 5th so I was given the option of having my order sent from the EU. It arrived on Aug 1st which was excellent service. Looking forward to trying the sample of Skyr that came with it. Unfortunately I’m fully stocked at the moment so the voucher code will expire before needing more. Your yoghurt making handbook is very informative.
thank you
Best regards
Jean

Thank you for your message I made Greek yogurt and it came out beautifully. I am really enjoying it. I haven’t made the cream cheese yet, because I am working on getting my bagel making skills down. I seem to make this big deal out of making things and it seems it is not as hard or difficult as I once thought. Also, thank you for a wonderful website experience. It is stuffed with detailed explanations, FAQ’s and recipes.

Your instructions on how to make yogurt are amazing and by far the easiest and cheapest I’ve found when looking. I have made the greek yogurt with soya milk for weeks and is great. I went on holiday so needed to get a new starter as the yogurt would have been to old so I’m excited to try the Bulgarian kind. Thanks
