I am at this moment waiting for another batch but this time made with additional cream; 1 cup heavy cream and 3 cups whole organic milk with saved yogurt as starter.

This is so good! I put the starter straight into cream and got the most delicious sour cream! After putting it in the fridge it firmed up like butter. Less tart than I thought but the whole family loves it!

I prefer to make my own, healthier, authentic yogurt with live bacteria and no additives, using raw whole milk – which is not available commercially as far as I know.
I look forward to seeing what this one tastes like.
I’ll have to get creative in recipes using sour cream!

Stupid of me – I forgot that sour creme mesophile starter is the same as Danish “tykmælk” (I think this is called Dickmilch in German).

It was delicious it was just like tart yoghurt. In fact it was quite thick considering I used raw goats milk which is so hard to get to thicken.
