I’ve ordered this starter before and love it. I ran out because I gave the last of it to my cousin and I’m sure she’ll be ordering it in the future. I don’t mind that it isn’t as thick as good Greek sourdough. I did strain some once but you get half of what you start with and I didn’t like drinking the whey that was left and couldn’t use it quick enough for something else. I think my Bulgarian mother and grandparents would be proud that I make sourdough. It makes my tummy happy.

The reason I like this sourdough is firstly medical. I’ve suffered for many years from disbalans in my gut flora. In recent years I’ve made significant improvements but the battle is far from over….I also found that the market of probiotics is not very reliable.
So I’d rather take as much as possible microorganisms with my food, not a pill….but you know well how today’s food is deprived from the good bugs we need in our gut.
Also I grew up eating the real stuff in the seventies and eighties of last century…just like you…so you know the pain of eating supermarket sourdough that stays fresh for 3 months in the fridge….garbage!
