Here’s my comments on the Bulgarian Yoghurt Culture:
Having seen a TV programme featuring the benefits of Bulgarian Yoghurt, I purchased a small Electric Yoghurt Maker (£25.00 on eBay) with seven 200 ml glass jars and a suitable cooking thermometer covering the required temperature range, from Morisons (£4.00). I then went in search of a Bulgarian Yoghurt Culture, my website search led me to “The Bacillus Bulgaricus” website. They have a great variety of Yoghurt Cultures, I started with the Bulgarian Start kit 2L (£2.59) (it comes with two 1L sachets) so I figuring that gave me two chances to get it right. I needn’t have worried, just follow The Bacillus Bulgaricus step by step guide, making sure everything is sterilised and you can’t go wrong. The sachets unopened last for up to a year in your freezer compartment.
Hay presto I had made my first batch in a little over 7 hours, I started with fresh pasteurised full cream milk the result was delicious, since then I have moved on to semi-skimmed pasteurised milk the results is just as good and I hope a little more healthy. I plan on trying soya and coconut milk with the aim of moving away from dairy.
Having revisited The Bacillus Bulgaricus website I am now tempted to try some of their other Yogurt cultures. So I have ordered the Seven Pack Combo, so that I can try all the different yoghurt cultures in the offer.

Actually it worked pretty well. I just got wnough supply for a long time and i am the only one who eats yoghurt at home it succeesds everytime without any effort on my behalf. So once my batch is finished i will definately buy a new supply.

My very first method of yogurt making consisted of a warming plate, dutch oven, stainless steel bowl thermometer and lid. After boiling cooling adding culture I placed a duck oven on the plugged in warming plate, poured luke warm water into the dutch oven added the stainless steel bowl filled with the milk and culture inserted a thermometer into milk mixture then placed a lid on top (a jar to let air escape) and went to bed. Woke up to great tasting yogurt. Tried a yogurt maker with individual cups and now the instant pot which is pretty convenient.
