Recycling Guidelines

Our Packs

Our packs are made of fully recyclable materials. They are essentially a multilayer composite packaging, made of thin layers of polyethylene (PE), aluminum (AL) and Polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

Each layer has its own specific function. The PE and PET layers act as a barrier material that protects the contents against moisture and also provide adhesive properties so that the packs can be well sealed to preserve their contents. The Aluminum layer protects against the ingress of oxygen and light.

Both PE and PET are strong, heat-resistant and resistant to acidic gases and foods. They are not known to leach harmful chemicals and are ideal for contact with food products. Both PE and PET are 100% recyclable materials.

Aluminum is the most abundant metal in the Earth’s crust. It is extracted from the mineral bauxite, a rock which is named after the town of Beaux-de-Provence in France, where this mineral was first discovered. Aluminum is very malleable and light, it has good barrier qualities in order to protect foodstuffs and it doesn’t rust in humid environments. Aluminum packaging is used for various applications such as drinks cans, food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical packaging and many more. Aluminum is a 100% recyclable material.

The combination of these materials gives the packs their very specific characteristics: they are waterproof, light and impermeable to light and oxygen. These packaging protect their contents both at room temperature and in the refrigerator. Because the ingredients can be stored for up to twelve months without needing to be refrigerated, they also help reduce waste.

Recycling of packs

Since the composition of our packs is very similar to that of beverage cartons or that to aluminum beverage cans, that is why we recommend recycling them with your beverage cartons or with drinks cans. Of course, always check your local guidelines on what’s the best way to recycle.

Given the fact that the packaging is composed of several materials, recycling them often requires an adapted process which is offered by various specialized recyclers and which allows recovering and separating the materials that constitute the inside layers of the packaging.

That is why it is recommended that you check your local guidelines for the best way to recycle the packs.

Our Label Stickers

Our label stickers are made of fully recyclable materials.

Our stickers are made of paper with a scratch- and UV-resistant gloss coating made of Polypropylene (PP). This makes them heat and cold resistant as well as easy to attach and detach and recycle separately if needed.

Both paper and PP are 100% recyclable materials.

Recycling of label stickers

In most cases you can recycle the entire pack together with the sticker in the same way described above.

If you prefer to recycle the label separately, it is best to recycle it with plastics marked as PP5 than recycling it with paper as the lamination can be better separated from the paper during the recycling process, allowing filtering out the film.

Always check and follow your local guidelines for the best way to recycle the label stickers.
